Beth David Reform Congregation in Gladwyne, PA is having a very special guest speaker at their Sisterhood Shabbat service on June 1st at 7:00 PM and all are welcome to attend. Resa Davids, WRJ board member, Founding Chair of WRJ-Israel and Chair of the Israel Twinning program will be sharing her experiences about gender equality, the role of progressive Judaism and WRJ’s influence in Israel.
Resa and Rabbi Stanley Davids made aliyah to Israel in February 2004 and currently reside in Jerusalem and Santa Monica, CA. Resa is a dynamic powerhouse and informative speaker and this is a rare treat to have her here in our area. She will provide an update about our sisters in Israel – from Women of the Wall, to women in the army, to Haredim segregating buses and sidewalks. The questions she will address include: What is the role of women in Israel? How can we help promote gender equality? What is our stake in these issues as Reform, American Jews? During oneg Shabbat there will also be a power point presentation to continue the discussion. It promises to be a lively evening – don’t miss it!
